A Black and White Roof?! Yep… and We’re Kinda Obsessed With It

I know, I know… a black and white roof combo sounds a little crazy when you first say it out loud. Trust me, I had the same moment of doubt – quickly followed by a thank goodness for Pinterest and 3D renders to help me visualise it all!

But now that the roof is on… WHOO HOOO 🎉 It’s all happening and I am absolutely loving it. Seeing the structure come to life has been such a rush. There’s nothing like walking on site and realising the vision you’ve been obsessing over is actually real.

So, why black and white?

For this 8-star energy-rated home, the design has always been about contrast, clarity, and clean lines. It’s bold but balanced. A little unexpected, but timeless. And with all the natural light and angles in the design, the combo just works.

Seeing it all come together…

Honestly, this is the part of the build where things start to get really exciting – when structure turns into home. The trusses, the pitch, the details you sweated over months ago suddenly make sense in full scale.

And speaking of structure, we couldn’t have pulled this off without the legends at Dahlsens Wagga. They supplied all the frames and trusses for the build, made locally and tailored exactly to our plans. Having that kind of precision and support made the whole process run smoother – and faster!

So, here’s to trusting your gut (and your Pinterest boards), making brave choices, and watching them come to life one roof panel at a time.

We’re on our way now… and it’s looking very cool from the top down.
