A man has been arrested after a teenager was shot dead during a fight in a beachside carpark in Newcastle. Ekampreet Sahni, 18, was found with a gunshot wound in the Bar Beach carpark on Memorial Drive about 11.40pm on Wednesday. Police were told a group of people were fighting in the carpark when a white SUV drove up. A man armed with a firearm got out of the car and fired the gun before leaving the scene in the car. Footage has emerged of a veteran and Channel 9 reporter engaged in a charged conversation after a neo-Nazi led the booing of a Welcome to Country at a Dawn Service. A teenager has been charged with murder following the death of a supermarket owner in Darwin. Linford Feick, 71, died after he was allegedly stabbed by the 18-year-old at his Nightcliff supermarket on Tuesday. Police alleged at the time that Mr Feick had caught his attacker shoplifting and asked them to return the items before he was stabbed, with the alleged offender fleeing on a bicycle. The 18-year-old was charged with murder the day after handing himself in to police. Two women have been hospitalised following terrifying separate lightning strikes, after southeast Queensland was pounded by a deluge of rain on Anzac Day morning. More than 200mm of rain fell across multiple areas in the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, sparking a severe thunderstorm warning from the Bureau of Meteorology as remembrance services kicked off across the country. Some services in the Sunshine Coast region were cancelled as a result of roads becoming inundated by flash flooding. Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton have attended Anzac Day Dawn Services to mark the 110th anniversary of the devastating Gallipoli landings in World War One. Both the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader will suspend campaigning for the May 3 election on Friday as Australians honour those who have served their country in war and peacetime. Australian sleep health giant Resmed has locked down an exemption from Donald Trump’s sweeping trade tariffs. Resmed produces sleep apnoea machines and accompanying technology in Singapore and Australia, and the $49bn company confirmed this week its existing tariff exemption will continue in the US.
