Macquarie Bank moves on rates ahead of RBA meeting

Macquarie Bank has slashed their fixed rate offering ahead of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s meeting on May 19-20 to decide the official cash rate. The bank – which is now Australia’s fifth-biggest lender – has dropped its two- and three-year interest rates to offer the new lowest rate on the market at 5.19 per cent. Man accused of killing teen Audrey Griffin found dead

Adrian Torrens, the man accused of killing NSW teenager Audrey Griffin has reportedly died in custody. The 53-year-old was found unresponsive in a cell at Silverwater Correctional Complex in Western Sydney at about 4.50pm on Thursday, The Daily Telegraph reported. He was unable to be revived by Corrective Services staff and paramedics. Torrens was found just hours before a vigil was held for the 19-year-old in Terrigal. Crazy footage showed the moment police had to use a helicopter to save a bogged couple who decided to drive into a closed road. Police have scolded a young Queensland couple after their car was bogged on a closed road, leaving them stranded for three days.
