Peter Dutton has returned to campaign in his own seat to protest a wafer-thin margin as a Labor Party member who has been recruiting Chinese volunteers claims he’s “mobilised” political campaigners over multiple federal elections.

Supporters in the room kept their beverages cool with the help of stubby coolers emblazoned with the phrase “Monique, please DO NOT take this beer”, a reference to Dr Monique Ryan’s husband taking election signs.
Mr Dutton will start his day campaigning in Brisbane while Anthony Albanese has been in WA.
