Man allegedly sets fire to NSW Central Coast shop with family inside
CCTV allegedly shows a man pouring petrol into the store in The Entrance and on the pavement outside, before setting it alight with the family inside.
Police allege he poured petrol through a hole he made by smashing a window at the shop at 4pm yesterday and set it alight.
A family with two young children inside fled for their lives. They can’t be identified.
“Everyone’s pretty traumatised by it,” one family member said.
A young girl said they heard multiple loud bangs before running downstairs.
A young girl grabbed her brother’s hand and jumped over the flames.
“[She] saved her brother’s life, because she’s a hero,” a woman said.
The family said they don’t know the alleged culprit.
Brandon Duncan, 22, has been arrested and charged with a list of serious offences.
