Model Natalie Marangos threw lamp at ex’s head at busy restaurant

A model and aspiring social media influencer threw a lamp at her ex-lover when she spotted him on a date at one of Sydney’s fanciest new restaurants.

Natalie Marangos, 34, assaulted her ex-boyfriend Dean Contos, 37, at Tanuki restaurant in Double Bay just before midnight on 22 February.

Mr Contos was dining with another woman when Marangos grabbed a lamp from a restaurant table and hurled it at his face.

He sustained facial injuries. Marangos had left the scene by the time police arrived.

She was arrested the following night in Hurstville Grove and was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

She pleaded guilty to the charge in March.

The glamorous model appeared in the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday dressed in a sleek black button up and dress pants.

Her lawyer Kiki Kyriacou told the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday that he has spoken with the officer in charge about CCTV footage of the incident.

“In terms of what he’s raised in the footage … he wants to review the footage first before the facts can be agreed,” he said.

A four week adjournment was granted in order for the facts to be agreed on.

Meanwhile, Mr Contos has also been charged with a string of domestic violence charges.

The property developer has been charged with choking a person without consent, intimidation and using a tracking device without consent.

He is yet to enter any pleas.

He is due to appear in court in October for a hearing.
