Tarryn Thomas facing new charges after allegedly being caught in possession of drugs
Tarryn Thomas is expected to be charged by police after he was allegedly caught in possession of drugs in Melbourne’s CBD in the latest turmoil to engulf the former AFL player.
According to Channel 7 reporter Mitch Cleary, police found the former North Melbourne player’s vehicle parked in a no-standing zone before conducting a search.
“Tarryn Thomas and another man were allegedly caught in possession of drugs and deal bags in the CBD of Melbourne,” Cleary said on Sunday Footy Feast.
“In a statement to 7NEWS, police have confirmed a 24-year-old Thomastown man and a 25-year-old Ormond man are both expected to be charged on summons.
“This came after a Lamborghini that both males were in, were spotted in a no-standing zone.
“Officers then executed a search on that vehicle where they found the drugs and the deal bags.”
It’s the latest controversy to surround the former pick No.8, and comes just three weeks after Thomas was allegedly held at gunpoint in a ‘terrifying hostage drama’ in Ballarat over a car deal that went wrong.

In November last year, the 25-year-old received a good behaviour bond and avoided a criminal conviction after police dropped a charge of using a telecommunications service to harass a woman.
But the incident, coming after repeated allegations of violence against women, resulted him North Melbourne and the AFL initially suspending Thomas for 18 matches, then finally tearing up his contract in February last year.
The 69-gamer has tried to resurrect his career after becoming eligible for a state league return, but no club has shown serious interest in signing him.
The board of VFL team the Northern Bullants met to discuss signing the former Kangaroo, though they opted against recruiting him amid intense public backlash.
A return to AFL football can only be made at the league’s discretion, but he is not permitted to enter the 2025 AFL mid-season draft.
