Woman dies after falling at Mapleton Falls, Sunshine Coast


A woman has died after falling 80 metres to her death in a Queensland national park.

Emergency services were called about 3.30pm on Saturday to Mapleton Falls in the Sunshine Coast after reports someone had fallen.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokesperson said a 36-year-old woman was treated for significant life-threatening injuries.

However Queensland Police later said she could not be revived.

Another woman, aged 18, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
