LiveBetter pleads guilty over bath scalding death of Kyah Lucas

A major disability services provider has admitted to a criminal breach of its duty of care after a young Indigenous woman suffered fatal burns while under its care. Kyah Lucas, 28, who was non-verbal and had multiple disabilities, died in hospital five days after being bathed in scalding water by two workers from National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider LiveBetter during a support session in Orange in the NSW Central Tablelands in February 2022. SA Health discloses patient data leak from third-party breach

SA Health has notified patients involved in sleep studies at the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital that some of their information may have been stolen in a cyberattack against a technology provider. The agency said the third-party provider, Compumedics, was impacted by a ransomware attack back in March, in which “some … files are likely to have been stolen” and could wind up on the dark web. Patterson, 50, has pleaded not guilty to three charges of murder and one of attempted murder, and has always maintained her innocence. Iran says it repelled large cyberattack

Iran repelled a large cyberattack on its infrastructure on Sunday, said the head of its Infrastructure Communications Company, a day after a powerful explosion damaged its most important container port and another round of talks with the US over Tehran’s nuclear programme. “One of the most widespread and complex cyberattacks against the country’s infrastructure was identified and preventive measures were taken,” Behzad Akbari said, according to semi-official Tasnim news agency, without giving more detail.
